Bass Island Trail Access
As the next step in the major renovation project at Bass Island, which will improve access to the Little Miami River while protecting the riverbank ecosystem, Great Parks of Hamilton County is expanding the parking lot and optimizing the auto entrance from Newtown Road. This work will require Great Parks to close a short, approximately half-mile section of the Little Miami Scenic Trail from Tuesday, April 21, through Friday, May 1. The trail will be closed from U.S. 50/Wooster Pike to the entrance to the Little Miami Golf Center for 12 days, including only one weekend.
During this work, trail users can still access the Little Miami Scenic Trail at three convenient sites nearby, including the Little Miami Golf Center, Avoca Trailhead and Fifty West Brewing Company. Each of these sites offers parking.
The work is being performed by Great Parks of Hamilton County. The renovated Bass Island River Access is planned to open this fall. For current information see the Hamilton County web site: Bass Island.
