It’s been in the works for over a year now.
Quotes, layout drawings, permit applications, material orders, measuring and remeasuring, digging,and inspections have been completed. The construction of a shelter at the Corwin Trailhead is progressing and completion is planned for this spring.The foundation piers have been poured and the steel frame erected. The final phase will be installation of roof decking and steel roof panels.
The 16’ x 28’ steel frame structure is a financial and labor joint effort of ODNR, Friends of Little Miami State Park, and the Village of Corwin. Construction was originally planned for the spring and early summer of 2020 but was delayed due to ODNR staffing cutbacks related to Covid issues.
This is another example of trail improvements funded in part by the generous donations of FLMSP supporters.
